About SICA
The Students’ International Communication Association (SICA) is students’ association for international communications in SDU, founded on March 23, 2004, The programs held by SICA include the SDU’s foreign affairs reception assistance, independent international communication programs for students, internal activities and training for members.
Our mission is to make contributions for the internationalization strategy of the SDU and meanwhile broaden international vision, enhance international competitiveness, improve the comprehensive competitiveness of the members and our school peers. 'International vision, global step' has always been the resounding slogan as well as the fundamental goal of SICA.
SICA has established operation mode featuring the collective decision-making system with the core of Association President and the Secretary-General. The bureau holds regular meetings for the internal major issues. SICA is organizationally belong to Communist Youth League committee of Shandong University, with the operational guidance of the International Office of the SDU, where SICA has stationary office. Sicaers take turns to be on duty in the office and assist the teachers with routine.
SICA also has established internal systems including financial system, ask-for-leave system, article management system, duty management system, file system, BUDDY management system, recruitment system, etc, which make SICA operate efficiently and normatively. P-CEO system is used to deal with the specific work of SICA, offering every member the opportunities to be a project leader who shoulder tough tasks and therefore can enjoy rapid progress.
SICA, as a unique landscape among all the students’ associations, modest but persevering, has been playing an important role in the significant international communications of Shandong University. SICA does its part in the reception of numerous foreign university presidents and professors and is regarded as a sincere friend by the overseas exchange students. The members of SICA, called Sicaers, consisting of students of different majors, enjoy a family-like happiness and improve themselves by attending training for Diplomatic etiquette and professional quality.
SICA has been growing rapidly and will, with vibrancy, enthusiasm and confidence. History has witnessed SICA a unique role played in the international communications of Shandong University
